The Writer’s Digest Conference and BookExpo in New York City was more informative and rewarding than I had imagined. I made some valuable contacts and three of the agents I had met with expressed interest in Shattered Illusions, requesting the first three chapters.

Before any of my supporters get excited and wonder when they can get a copy of the book, please understand this fact: An agent reading the first three chapters is a long way from my book landing a space on a major bookstore shelf. I do not have a book contract, only a glimmer of interest at this point.

In the meantime, I’m gearing up for the Romance Writers of America conference in Washington, D.C. in mid-July where I have appointments with an agent and a publisher. I am also continuing to explore other writing and publishing options.

This summer promises to keep me busy, and while I plan to spend some lazy days on the beach reading, I will be working on my next novel and expanding my platform as a writer.

Shattered Illusions

Set in the city and beaches of San Diego, my smart and sassy heroine is a single and successful advertising executive ready for a settled life, until she is followed into a dark bedroom by a hunky bad boy with a killer smile and a bottle of French champagne.  Did I mention his ‘southern comfort’ charm and seductive touch?  The hero is a sexy country rock musician with an alluring combination of tough with a sensitive side, but he lives the life of a gypsy.

Shattered Illusions is full of sensual tension, eccentric friends and an interfering ex-boyfriend, appealing to romance and chick-lit readers alike.
